Hello Guest

A Brief History
Description: Christmas of 1984 I got my first GI Joes - Steeler & the MOBAT among them, from my uncle, so that's the first handle I went with (after going by "80s Child" for some momentary lapse of reason). However, after my uncle told  my mother that she could "walk off into the woods and drop dead" and he wouldn't care, I didn't want to be "Steeler" anymore.

Then I went with "Thunder" for a fresh start & just because I thought he was cool....but he didn't have any significant meaning to me personally.

So, thinking that 3rd time's the charm on "tank driver avatars", I'm going with the guy that my mother bought me for my 8th birthday back in 1985 - Tollbooth.

* I know this isn't the typical type of shot to post here, so it'll be a one-time thing for me, & then back to normal shots of figures after this one ;)

Post as many photos like this as you want, my dude! This is great. I can feel the joy from the screen. And I love Tollbooth. He's one of the oldest figures I own, plus he's the only Joe from my hometown.

Wonderful old photo, you look like you won the lottery unwrapping that Bridgelayer. Can't blame you either :)

Also nice to know your posting history. I don't think we've ever crossed paths directly, but what I'd seen from your former handles was always nice and positive. A rarity on the damn internet!

Thanks for the kind words Roland! I don't think we've crossed directly either, but I've definitely been a fan of both your photos AND the way you interact with the other fans in the hobby. You're right, it does seem to be a rare thing to find on the web...but luckily I think we've found a good haven here.

I did feel like I won the lottery that night BTW😄

Interesting hearing how you emotionally connect with figures/characters. I've never had or experienced much like that, so it's a different perspective.

Also, it always catches my attention in photos like this one just how awesome those vintage Joe boxes look.
