The way you managed to do the water is top notch!

Great overall photo, and nice to see Muskrat again, I was just thinking about how nice the Funskool version was.

Thanks.  I'll be definitely trying this water technique again soon.  Muskrat is one of those figures you used to see used a lot on Joedios.  Now he's kind of faded back into obscurity.

Are you mostly just using moss for the ground, or is there some soil mixed in too?

The water looks amazing. This shot's so good it really makes me want to get on copying it.

I did use craft moss, but the soil you see here is a bit more complicated.  I glued down brown railroad ballast onto painted carved and shaped scrap pieces of pink foam and then glued over the ballast the dirt and loose material that came off of the craft moss I used.  I collected that stuff on paper plates and then sifted it into bags to use as the top layer of dirt.  So far, I have made 5 of these foam terrain sections which I can rearrange on a larger foam base that has the same layers glued on it.  I then have loose pieces of moss that I can use to hide the seams.  The larger plants are the plastic florist ones you can find at hobby lobby.

The water here is actually two layers of green crumpled clingwrap.  I had tried this technique before long ago, but I think this is the first time that I'm happy with how it looks.

I'm very happy with this new setup.  For now, I'm shooting it in front of my monitor.  The hardest part is getting the lighting right since I'm only working with one desk lamp.
