Theme Month - Blowtorch Antorcha (Plastirama Blowtorch) |
|
Description: Antorcha wasn't as common as the Plastirama Ninjas or the Ripcord/Airborne/Sgt. Slaughter case. But, he was common enough to be cheap for a long time. I opened mine off the card since he was less expensive than most army builders at the time. The colors are find. Very vibrant and rich. You get the yellow Doc helmet and, for some reason, Torch's torch instead of Blowtorch's flamethrower. The hose on the torch is very rigid. So, no making it work with the pack. No idea where the real weapon went since it never showed up again.
As with all Plastirama of this era, the quality is spotty. The paint, especially on the face, can be terrible. The o-rings are always loose. And, I'm hesitant to use the accessories for fear of damage. He, like all the Blowtorch repaints from Argentina, features the Doc waist. Again, no idea why that change was made. But, it's small on the figure's torso and makes him feel off balance all the time.

| June 14, 2025, 07:28:34 PM Interesting that they paired Torch's weapon with Blowtorch's backpack. Lanard did that with one of the Corps! characters, I wonder if there's a connection or if it is just a coincidence. |

This is the kind of figure that seems like it'd be fun to own and document for the novelty of that, but not much else. It's a shame the torch isn't usable, since otherwise it could be paired with the black Torch backpack they were tossing around in the 2000's. |

| May 24, 2025, 11:23:41 PM It's funny, I've had this figure's accessories for almost 20 years, but never had the figure. |
