Description: When Intelligence reports place Firefly in Chicago, Shockwave is given the dangerous task of tracking him down. He probably shouldn't have hit on the General's daughter.
Shockwave has always seemed a bit overrated to me. He's cool, but his details are a little soft and his head's a bit large. The Night Force version is a decent recolor, but a bit bland and really doesn't seem worth the money that he sometimes goes for.

Thanks guys! I was aiming to get a sort of Film Noir or Universal Monster film look to it, since both genres have a very visual way of storytelling. I ended up leaning more into Noir: the setting ended up providing a great sense of urban decay and the lighting turned out exactly as I hoped.
I think part of my disappointment with Shockwave is that, as a kid, my introduction to the character was the 1991 Impel trading card set, where he looked like Battle Corps Firefly, but with sane colors. So I think I was expecting a figure that was as crisply rendered as that Firefly, only with actual Firefly colors. He's still cool for sure, but that disappointed first impression of the figure has definitely followed me into adulthood.
I like DEF Shockwave, too. He's a very versatile figure.

Excellent lighting and awesome location!
I always wanted a Night Force Shockwave, but his price has always kept me away. I almost had one a few years ago, but it had a targat waist for some reason so I passed.
He probably is overrated, but I still think he looks cool.
I do agree that DEF Shockwave is awesome and is indeed superior to v1. | |

Great shot, the lighting is really nice, and the posing is cool.
I agree with you on Shockwave being somewhat overrated, and will die on the hill of stating the DEF version is better by ever imaginable metric | |
