I appreciate the '97's more and more every day. Shots like this are why. I need to get a Slugger, again. It's a great vehicle for shots like this. It's nuts that 20 years has passed since those maligned figures were released! |

| September 08, 2017, 03:03:48 AM The Slugger is extra good because the driver can actually sit inside and close the hatch, which didn't happen on a lot of early GI Joe tanks, especially the "realistic" ones. He can also pop out of the hatch convincingly, too. I never understood "mobile artillery" as a younger person, I just used it as a tank. It's cool either way. |

Great photo! Grunt's 'dinner party shirt' matches the Slugger very well.
Last weekend, I visited my mom in my hometown. I also had a bunch of Joe vehicles there. The 97 Slugger, 97 Rage, the Night Rhino, the v2 Dominator, and a few others. Looks like they all disappeared, which makes me very sad.
Bummer! I actually wished I had the 1997 Slugger for this photo, but the fact the figures from 1997 look good with a vehicle from 1984 shows how versatile and well done G.I. Joe is! |
