Description: The 2002 Alley-Viper was one of my all-time favorite Cobras. It was the only figure who came with me as I moved around through my 20s, decorating every desk I had. I even got a second one, which is something I never did back then. Of course they've long since discolored, so I rarely get them out for pictures.

The discoloration on these guys just sucks. They were my 2nd favorite after the 1997 paint job. But, these were much easier and cheaper to get. But, mine have all yellowed away and I just can't get excited about them.
I don't mind cracked elbows or even some paint loss. But, even slight discoloring pretty much ruins a figure for me.
I feel the same way about yellowing.
These alley vipers were so cool. I wish more repaints from that era were this creative. |

| May 23, 2024, 06:40:51 PM I like these guys. Never lucked into a blue Alley Viper, but I do like the Red one I have. |

| May 23, 2024, 05:14:20 AM I liked this one enough that the discoloring sort of changed my view on collecting. I can't go back to the days when they looked fresh, but I can live with it and still try to enjoy them. It's not too hard to correct the color digitally, so at least I can take photos of how they're supposed to look.
Isn't weird how the red ones still aren't changing?
Great shot General, I really dig that fence in the background. |
