Hello Guest

Stinger
Description: Some may call it a Rattler, but that's a commitment I don't have.

It doesn't matter which version of the Stinger, I always try to give it the PAC RAT Missiles, to match the back of the box on the original.

The "rattler" version of the stinger has always been expensive, for whatever reason.  I remember wanting one long ago, but the prices were always crazy, so I gave up on it.

The stinger sometimes is more fun without the doors and roof.  Also, those missiles look really good as an alternative.

Great shot, as always.  Funny enough, I don't think I've ever used the rear platform on the stinger.

Great lighting. I also like the look without doors and roof. As a kid my Stinger was secondhand and missing all parts so I used it that way, as a stripped-down utility vehicle.

Also, why is every dang version of the Stinger so expensive now? I've always wanted one of these, but it's a solid $100 vehicle now! At least the V1's are cooling off from their Lockdown-era highs.

It kind of makes sense because the Rattler was actually quite the pegwarmer back in 1999 and 2000.  It was available for a long time and TRU's often had a lot of them.  But, it was cheaper to buy a vintage Stinger with Driver than  it was to buy a Rattler.  So, I get why a lot of guys skipped extras or, skipped it entirely.  I know I didn't buy one because the ubiquitous vintage ones were better.

This photo proves that, in a lot of ways, the Stinger is a better toy without the doors and roof.  The enclosements look cool.  But, they limit the play value.

I still don't know why Hasbro didn't at least update the missiles for the 2022 version to match the box back.  If they were going all new, it would have been easy to do.  Heck, they could have used two tone plastic and it would have been something different.

Yeah, "Rattler 4-WD" was a really odd name swap, was it trademark tom-foolery?

The PAC RAT missiles actually look better to me, the grey part makes them look more complex and detailed compared to the solid red Stinger missiles. Also, any photo that references prototypes and packaging photos just seems cooler for doing it.
