Snow Troopers |

Description: For a long time I've been ambivalent about winter or arctic versions of the Cobra Trooper. The mold just doesn't look like someone dressed for cold weather. Coloring him white may make him harder to see, but that's not worth much if he freezes to death. But over the summer I came across some spare Black Major Firefly torsos and I think they look just bundled-up enough to be plausible, so I combined them with some 2021 Black Major arctic Trooper parts.
I also like that these guys don't share the Snow Serpent color scheme. Snow Serpents are elite, and they're part of a different hierarchy--the Cobra navy. It makes sense that when ordinary Cobra Troopers get sent into snowy situations, they have a different motif.

I like some uniformity with my COBRAs, but it's something that can get way out of hand. My current obsession is Blue COBRAs, and it's difficult, considering that not a single TBM blue COBRA in the last couple years has a matching shade of blue. |

| December 26, 2021, 03:51:26 PM Thanks! I agree about color schemes. The genius of Hasbro's sub teams was that most of them didn't rigidly stick to one color scheme, but mixed several colors in different ways so the figures had a common set of overlapping colors but were also individual. |

I agree with you about the Snow Serpent colors. I feel like something GI Joe fans are too prone to wanting, is cookie-cutter color schemes that make everything look the same, regardless of if it makes sense or not. |
