Hello Guest

Vipers on Patrol
Description: I didn't notice it while writing my blog post on this guy, but I believe the heads and torsos have discolored a tad on a few of mine. The plastic Hasbro used during the 2000's is really not holding up well, color-wise.

Great shot!

The 2000s quality is astonishingly bad, considering that I've got figures that are almost 40 that survived better.

All the 2000's figures seem to be falling apart.  Some plastics discolor or crack. Stormtroopers from this time are turning piss yellow, too, worse than even vintage Stormshadows.  It's embarrassing.  At least Hasbro's always updating Stormtroopers and Clones.  But, the JvC and DTC era Joes will never be revisited.

I'll have to check mine to see if any of them have discolored.  It would not surprise me.  It's sad to see some of these figures aging more quickly than their vintage counterparts.

Great setup and location.  I was able to put together an army of these vipers over a few years time, form just finding them by chance.  Oddly enough I don't ever remember seeing them at retail back when they were  available.  For being such an overproduced figure they must have been hoarded up for awhile before I started finding them loose for cheap.

The grey knees do suck, some of mine I removed the paint to correct that.  Despite the arguably lackluster paintjob on these and shit accessories I still like them as Jungle Vipers.

They look great in the woods! That AK might be a better fit than the Baroness rifles they came with.

I've wondered if mine is discoloring or if it's just the marbled plastic. A lot of the others I see in pictures seem similar, but like you say that plastic might all be aging in the same way.
