Hello Guest

Zap
Description: The Joe team's ground artillery specialist makes short work of a HISS tank.

I recently rediscovered this v2 Zap in my collection and wondered why I hadn't done anything with him.  I realized it was the grey helmet, it just did not match him at all.  So I sprayed it silver and painted the visor black.  I think it looks much better.  I also went ahead and gave him some new less cumbersome accessories.  Now I love this version, I think it works rather well as a more grizzled veteran take on the character.

Fantastic shot! This is one of the few 90's figures I've never acquired. You see him so seldom I never think to look for him, though with any luck maybe I'll change that this year. He looks way better with that painted helmet.

I had mine wear his helmet backwards for years.  Wasn't until like 2015 that I realized it.  The black visor makes a huge difference.

Excellent photo! The 91 Zap is a figure I've debated getting, lately. Good to know about the helmet!

Thanks.  He really is a solid figure.  I couldn't find another helmet that fit him so he wound up not getting any use.  The silver accessories variant is probably better than the grey version, but I've never seen them in person.  Mine wasn't complete anyway so
I figured it was safe to just spray paint the grey helmet to silver.  Another thing to note is that the helmet is an awkward fit.  I actually had to lightly sand his ears a little bit with 1000 grit automotive sandpaper so it wasn't so tight on his head.  I didn't want to risk damage to the touchups I had to do to his hair and eyebrows.

It's funny I didn't even know there was a version with grey accesories until the early 2000's. I had the figure way back in 1991 and his accessories were silver.
