Description: This guy matches up pretty well with the 04 Nullifiers. In unrelated news, all the upper arms on my Nullifiers are now discolored. That crappy 2000's era plastic is not holding up well.

| February 26, 2020, 12:25:33 AM Nice photo, never realized how cool that Ferret repaint really was. As for the discolouring, I've seen it on a few select figures (1.5 Alley Vipers, Wave 5 Shipwreck/Crimson Twins/Lifeline or the other guy, Comic Pack Scrap Iron), it's really a strange phenomenon. But I guess these figures are the same age Duke v1 was, when they came out!
I've noticed a lot of issues with figures I have from the 2000's. Especially comic pack ones. Discoloration, brittle torsos and legs that shatter and crumble. New sculpt era torsos, even DTC ones have cracks at the neck. Most of my vintage stuff has held up pretty well on the other hand. The biggest issue I've had lately is with vintage fodder parts. Particularly knee pins snapping off. I need to come up with a repair.
Some people have used BBQ Skewers as a replacement of knee pins. I'm not sure how exactly, but it would probably work. |

| February 25, 2020, 08:34:06 PM All of mine have discolored upper arms as well. I've not checked them recently, but during my last rearranging of the army builder tubs, I noticed it. Really sucks because I love this repaint and I've always used them as my Flak vipers.

As for the black dragon trooper, I love the concept, even though I associate the ferret mold with the IG's. It's not a bad looking figure, I'd love to own that con set one day. I like the idea of introducing a new faction, but this one never really panned out in to anything. If I ever got any of these, I'd probably want to make customs to accompany them. |

| February 24, 2020, 11:37:40 PM I believe my Nullifier is the same. It's pretty funny how much collectors stress about the vintage stuff degrading, when I'm seeing modern figures hardly lasting as well. POC Shock Troopers with crumbling thighs, cracking New Sculpt chests, and figures like this one that discolor for no apparent reason.
I dig that sandy looking location! Last modified by: Nekoman February 24, 2020, 11:38:18 PM |
