Description: The Retro Troopers released last summer haven't shown up much on Instagram and Twitter, maybe because no one is opening them. But I like them a lot. They might be the highest quality troopers ever released, although I don't love the face. The Skystriker trooper fits in well as a Trooper with slightly different gear, which is realistic. But otherwise he's not very useful or distinctive. It was a missed opportunity--with a silver logo and maybe a red mask he'd be much better.

I like the new O-Rings so far, but there's a couple things I don't care for. First, the rivets are a little larger than the originals, and they are painted instead of being color matched anodized. And the printed number code down the legs are terrible, on the darker Figures it doesn't show up as bad, but on Storm Shadow it stands out like a sore thumb. And the face paint apps aren't so good like General said. If they could just fix those couple of things they'd be 100% better. And it's a shame they just dropped the O-Rings, it seems kind of suspicious they hyped it up while they were wanting to sell the Skystriker. And soon after they got it funded, they put out a few things, and then nothing.

There's so much I wish Hasbro could've done with new o-ring figures, but they've proven themselves to be far too clueless. At this point I hope they just license the brand out to someone a little more invested.
Clueless is the word. Either revive the o-ring or don't. So far I'm not impressed, I've yet to buy any of the stuff they have put out so far.
There is so much lost potential here. I'm ok with some vintage remakes/reissues/replicas, but we need new figures. There is so much stuff we never got in the o-ring format before that would be amazing. | |
