Theme Week - Headhunters |

Description: And now the brown v1 Headhunters. Still pretty cool, the brown is more realistic than the green, but the green is more striking. I like them both.
I've never given it much thought as what the significance of the two different colors would be in universe. Something to ponder.
Also, I was going to do a shot of my Headhunter Guards from the 2008 convention set but was horrified to discover that the plastic is starting to aggressively deteriorate. Their legs and waists now feel brittle, and they had a weird crust on them that looks like sand. I'm afraid to even touch them now.

Deteriorating convention figures sucks unimaginably, sorry to hear about that. |

Oof. That's tough. The 2000's plastic just sucks on so many levels. I'm really thinking about selling all the high dollar figures from that era before they fall apart.
Is that model railroad ballast on the floor of the alley? The whole setup is great.
I know. I still need to check the other figures from the set to see if they are suffering the same fate. Hopefully it's just the guards. As far as I know they are the only convention figures I've seen do anything like this. I did have a bunch of the comic pack figures crumble and fall apart though awhile back.
I did use model railroad ballast for this shot, I chose it specifically to help these guys stand out more with their black uniforms. I've had this stuff for years. The floor is a flexible piece of craft foam with the ballast sprinkled over it. When I'm done with the shoot it's easy to pick up the foam and dump the ballast back into a container. |
