Theme Week: Pathfinder |
|
Description: When I was a kid, my dad was obsessed with Roy Orbison. For some reason or another, my kid brain decided that Pathfinder looked like (and may have been) Roy Orbison. Dad also watched some movie every time it aired on cable that featured a 57 Chevy and had the song Pretty Woman in it. Hence, in most of my childhood playtime's, Pathfinder would drive into battle with his "custom" 57 Chevy. These associations have always stuck with the character for me.
It's pretty silly, but I was finally able to dig Pathfinders car out of storage a few weeks ago, and wanted to do something like this.

| May 04, 2024, 12:33:51 AM It's funny how as kids we sometimes would associate certain toys with unrelated things or repurpose them.
That's a great connection! Didn't Pathfinder's file cards say something about his own dad fighting in Vietnam? So maybe there's a backstory inside a backstory too, that the 57 Chevy could be something he inherited...
His father was a Korean war veteran according to the filecard. I actually had to look up his card when I took my picture for the theme, as I don't think I had ever read his before. |

I like this, and now I might think of Roy Orbison when looking at Pathfinder. |
