Thanks for the Add. I look forward to seeing all the great pics on here, and plan to add some of my own. I used to post Dio Pics on a couple other pages some years back, and I see a few familiar Names on here. So, Thanks again, and I hope to get some new shots up soon.

Welcome, and thanks for joining! Have fun and feel free to post up your old shots too!

General Discussion / Rules and Guidelines
« on: July 04, 2023, 11:07:28 PM »
Rules:

1: No Flaming, Personal Attacks or Harassing
I have a personal policy of calling it like I see it. At this forum however, I'd like the focus to stay on showcasing GI Joe photos, so please avoid picking a fight.

2: No Spam Links or Posts
Do not repeatedly post links to your unrelated personal endeavors or repeatedly make nonsense posts. Any links to GI Joe related content you've made for a blog or YouTube video are allowed and encouraged.

3: No Porn
No porn or graphic images of any kind. This does not apply to photos strictly of toys in any abstract way, so zombies or dirty jokes about Dr. Mindbender are okay.

4: Nothing Illegal
If something you'd like to post is illegal for any reason in your own country, please do not post it here.

5: No BST/Panhandling
In general I would like it if trades and purchases were not facilitated on this site. As well, do not come here begging for donations or anything of that nature.

Guidelines:

Images from Other People:
It is okay to post catalog scans and old images from other people as long as it's clear where the image came from, or that it's not yours.

No Selfies or Extremely Low-Quality Pictures:
You do not have to take amazing pictures to post here, but images with egregious issues like real people or animals being prominently featured are not allowed.

Post as Much as You Like:
There's back end controls that let me limit the amount of images posted at any given time. Generally, most of us toss up a single picture and take turns, but it's perfectly reasonable to post several images at a time.

Commenting:
You do not have to comment on pictures to participate on this forum. My goal is solely to have a place where it's easy to look at a wealth of GI Joe photos (Although, nice comments are always appreciated.).

Construction Style:
Although this is "ARAH" Gallery, any GI Joe toys are welcome here. Your stunning GI Joe Extreme diorama you built in your basement does not have to hide any longer.

From the sounds of it, I think he's cancelled almost everything and won't be making anything after some more BATS and Segies? I just heard that today, so I'm not sure.

With that said, I probably wouldn't have bought any Jinx or Beachhead repaints. There's enough of Beachhead out there, meanwhile I just don't like the Jinx mold all that much.

I get the feeling Joe collecting is going to get a lot more boring.

Well, the ARAH Gallery must have the pulse on the Joe Community!

Yo Joe's facebook group did some strange and poorly timed commentary on the "State of affairs". Specifically in regards to The Black Major, it was pretty tone-deaf and reads like a decision to try and get TBM into trouble, while wrapping it in a "Reproduction figures harm the average collector who don't know any better!"

They also used some of Nekoman's photos (without credit, I'm assuming)

I just checked this out and now my blood's boiling. Yes, they flat out stole my shots with no credit, whatsoever, and used them in a post shitting on TBM on top of all of that!

Imagine trying to make a point about how bootlegs hurt "new collectors that don't know any better!", by stealing photos from a website much newer than yours, that gets much less traffic, and giving no credit to your audience that go figure- doesn't know any better. These clowns are rich!

Speaking of TBM, here's the new Eels for everyone who's not on Instagram, I just logged in for the first time in probably a year and saw them myself.

Not really feeling these so far... The extra torsos don't do much for me. Likewise, the accessories are off too. I don't have a need for neon New-Sculpt and MGR weapons, likewise, that RPG is basically unusable with vintage figures. Only one I really like is the Dreadnok/Copperhead colored one he was teasing.

Yeah, the market's been crazy and seems to only get crazier.

Personally, I speculate that we're not seeing a crash/sell-off because the demographic for Joe collectors, especially old vintage collectors, hasn't been greatly affected by the economic pain of the lock down. What's more, there's probably a decent pool of people who got stimulus money and are spending it on Joes, like how tax-return season always causes a spike in prices. Might see things cool off closer to July, unless another round of stimulus goes out.

Since we have forums here, I thought it could be a decent way to compile information and discuss figure news, which is hard to do on the socials.

So Black Major's latest customs are Snow Serpents, they look pretty good.

How do you guys quote multiple users in your "thank you" posts? I want to be more succinct when replying to your comments but I can't figure out how to not have to quote each person in a separate post...

When you quote someone, you can copy all of the text, go back in your browser, then paste it under another person's quote. This can be repeated for as many times as you like, allowing you to respond to everyone.

With that said, that is rather tedious so I might have to look into some way to fix it.

Speaking of commenting- is there a way to sort the pictures in the gallery by "most recently commented on", so we can know which photos are most currently being talked about?

I don't think you can, so I went and added a recently commented section to the main gallery page. :)

I think I fixed it! There's a few permissions pages on my end so some of that gets a little confusing. Lemme know if there's any other issues! ;)
