Description: Bullet-Proof was going to take these Headhunters down, but Cobra beat him to it. As much as he can't stand drug dealers, it's still hard to watch what Cobra does to anyone who intrudes on their turf.

Great stuff, the posing and setting are on point!
The '93 Alley Viper mold is one I like a lot better than the '89. The Yellow one is a lot of fun, though some of the repaints of the figure are probably better.
I've always felt that the Headhunters would've been more a thorn in the side of COBRA than that of the Joes. In addition to the issues of turf, I could see COBRA catching blame for Headhunter operations, based on the flashiness of the Headhunter uniforms and their sophisticated equipment. | |

Thanks guys! I like thinking about the different ways the Headhunters could fit into the politics, to get beyond the two-way Joe vs. Cobra struggle.
I like the yellow Alleys. But, went after them too late and I'm not going to drop $40 on a 90's army builder. Sadly, those green Headhunters are now the same price. I remember buying those carded for $10 and opening them since you couldn't find loose ones in the '90s.
This is how I feel about the 94 orange Alley-Vipers. I picked up a lot of 93 army builders at flea markets back in the day, but the 94s were harder to find. So I still don't have a complete 94 AV, but I can't bring myself to pay the current market rates, especially since there are several AV versions that are much better figures. | |

I love the set up. And, the figure choices are top notch.
I could see Cobra and the Headhunters being symbiotic. In the end. Cobra Commander was a capitalist. So, if the Headhunters paid him well enough, he'd gladly cover for them.
I remember some of the holier-than-thou guys of early Joe collectordom saying that "Not even Cobra Commander would condone drugs!". Disregarding his, you know, pure murder inflicted upon poor islanders and others.

Excellent posing and set. Great figure selection too. Makes me wish I had a few of those yellow alley vipers. Bulletproof has always been a favorite of mine, and the green v2 headhunter has really grown on me.
I like to imagine that the headhunters and cobra would rarely be on good terms with each other, and that they would have turf battles from time to time like this. I could see Destro's forces also feuding with the headhunters as well. | |

Thanks! Playmobil castle walls. I’ve gone back and forth on the yellow Alleys. I liked them as a kid. Then the mold got done better in 97, then done to death in the 00s, and I came to appreciate the old one, and especially The Black Major’s takes on it. But like you say, the yellow ones work well with other figures from that era. | |

Fantastic shot General! You and Mike have me really wanting to take an execution shot now. Those yellow Alley Vipers are odd, but they look so perfect in a 90's-centric photo like this.
What are those walls? They look familiar. |
