I'm not prepared for a theme this week.  So, I'll leave it to the group.

I have an idea for next week and should be able to get some new photos since the kids will finally be back in school.

I'm not really ready again this week.  So, let's go with your personal favorite Cobra figure.

For next week, how about a theme of water?  It can be aquatic Joes, your figures out in some puddles or whatever way you want to incorporate water into a photo.

Sounds perfect to me!

I need to get my '86 Low Light out as he's been out of the picture for way too long.

I've been occupied most of this week, so far.  So, I'm short on ideas for next week's theme.

So, first idea posted here will win and be the topic of next week's photos.  (We'll see who actually checks the forums!)

This week's theme: Your favorite factory custom figure.  Could be any release.  But, looking for favorites and why that figure resonates with you.

It's more of the false braggadocio of the era.  So, if you just have one or two, that's fine, too.

But, in keeping with the time, if you set them up on a shelf or with your car in the background, that's more authentic to the era. :)

I wanted to give some notice for next week's theme.  It's a bit more involved.  I'm thinking:

Show of Force - Retail Edition

Imagine it's 2002 and SgtSavage has just posted a photo of his Neo-Viper army on the Devil's Due Forums.  So, you quickly run to the store and spend your hard earned paycheck (or, let's be honest, in 2002, most guys were putting these on credit cards....) on some army builders so you, too, can post a photo and get some instant community cred.  Maybe you'll get frontpaged at JoeSightings!

For this week, I'm thinking Alpine in any of his forms.

Remember forums?  Yeah, me neither.

I'm thinking of this week's theme being the Stinger.  Can be any version.

Interesting new wrinkle today.  One of RL's defenders accused BM of stealing molds from competitors.  Understanding timing and the fact that BM released a lot of small run stuff that wasn't highly publicized is tough for them.  And, the BM made an updated Cobra Trooper mold since the old one had issue.  But, hey, why let facts get in the way....

I'd be pissed if they used my photos, too.  That's bullshit.  Here's photos by fans of BM, but BM actually sucks.  The only place my photos have ever been stolen in 20 years is on Facebook.  Guys there take them all the time.  But, they post them with no credit.  It's not malicious.  But, seeing as I'm about to post a month's worth of rarities photos that aren't mine, I don't wade into those waters too much.

There's also been people spouting off the theory that "Collectables always retain their value or go up in times of crisis".
None of those guys must have been around from 2009 through 2012 when pretty much everything was cheap.  Vipers and BATs were under $20 and "rare" figs sold cheap.  I figure once people realize how bad it is probably going to be, we'll see some massive swings in a very short time.

I have a feeling the Trade War of the last couple is what killed off Red Laser as a viable Factory Custom producer, I'm hoping this year isn't going to be a repeat.
BM seems to use different suppliers and doesn't really tease his stuff until it's in hand.  So, I'm assuming he has things like the Eels in the US.  I've often wondered if he does the construction of the figs in the US, too.  RLA seems to be pretty much gone and Letal Toys dies a quick death.  It's kind of sad.  But, we did get some nice figures out of it.

I love Eels.  But, I'm not feeling the ones he's shown so far.  The blue is too light.  The Python one is that light green that isn't my favorite.  The Copperhead one has me interested.  But, we'll see.  He's selling these to a bunch of different sellers with different buying plans again which just makes it all overly complicated.

Those 3 packs would be more interesting if they all had arms and legs.  I'm not spending money for incomplete figures.

Any of you guys been following online pricing, lately?  I have kind of stopped for a bit.  But, I keep seeing stupid prices on common figures like BATs, Vipers and even Spirit.  I figured we were at the end of the line of insane pricing.  And, there were tons of the "high end collector" types selling dupes of rare figs in early April, trying to cash in ahead of a market crash.  But, that hasn't happened, yet.  Which is...surprising...considering what's all going on.
